Fill your senses with the dazzling colors, pungent smells and the quiet sounds of nature as you hike or bike through one of five state parks. Or treat yourself to a scenic cruise by car, boat, horse-drawn wagon, or an eagle-eyed view with a scenic airplane ride. Watch as the fall colors begin to turn in mid-late September. If you want to see them in their peak, come during mid-October.

For your taste buds, there are roadside stands and farmers markets at every turn, offering crisp apples from local orchards, aromatic hot cider, and the bounty of the local harvest. Door County also has some of the best harvest festivals in the Midwest with pumpkin decorations, parades, collector cars, arts and crafts, fireworks and more all in a scenic fall setting that only Wisconsin’s peninsula can offer.

Explore more than 100 miles of quiet trails, perfect for skiing or snowshoeing, or zip along 250 miles of snowmobile trails. Pack up the sleds and hit Hill 17 at Peninsula State Park for some winter excitement or sharpen your blades for some great ice skating at one of the local rinks. Don’t miss special winter events including hundreds of plunging polar bears at the Jacksonport beach and a zany New Year’s Day parade, candlelight skiing at the state parks, winter festivals, ice fishing and more.
