Traverse City, Michigan
Provided by Traverse City CVB
FALL/WINTER 2007
Everybody knows what a spectacular place Traverse City can be in the warmer months, but those heart-stopping views of sky, water and shore don’t disappear at the end of summer.
Autumn only sharpens the beauty of Traverse City and its surroundings, adding color to the forests and spice to the air, making it perfect for a stroll on the beach, a shopping adventure, a round of championship golf, or a tour of the beautiful wine country. And in winter, the entire region becomes a sparkling white playground for skiers, snowmobilers and snowshoe hikers.
Shoppers are charmed by the quaint shopping areas and picturesque lakeport villages. Food lovers are amazed at the fresh and imaginative regional cuisine and the award-winning wines produced in the hillside vineyards. There’s plenty of indoor fun, too — this is one of America’s most charming art regions, with dozens of galleries, studios and museums, two symphony orchestras, two theatre companies and a vibrant club scene.
You can walk a mile along a misty autumn beach, bicycle through a landscape of brilliant fall colors or ski silently through a snow-shrouded forest. You can taste a cherry pie still warm from the oven, enjoy a glass of fragrant Old Mission eiswein, or just snuggle up beside a roaring fire and watch the bright stars burn in the winter sky.
Traverse City. It just keeps getting better.
